Mad Scientists Trying to Give Money Away?
Crazy guys in white lab coats running around showing off the new product pretty much describes how the CARS event went in Vegas last week. Our team, Mark, Jim, Joe, Steve B., Steve L. and Eric, wore lab coats as part of the promotion to help convey the scientific sense of our new technology. They got a TON of people signed up for our “smrtest shop on the planet” contest (a year of free smrt marketing), and the activity on the website sign-up sheet has really taken off. The best part, besides releasing the latest and most advanced shop marketing technology available, was that we got to force our sales manager, Joe, to dress up in a lab coat. Joe is one of those serious, business-minded guys who is great at giving solid marketing advice and putting complicated deals together, but getting him to dress up like a mad scientist is a lot like giving a cat a cold water bath. So, as much fun as it was to roll out the new era of shop marketing and to announce our contest, in all honesty, the most fun was making Joe wear his scientist outfit. Frankly, he looked great and should consider moonlighting as a scientist someday.
